Xero Power is a Chrome extension that adds keyboard shortcuts and a command palette to xero.com. The features themselves run entirely inside your browser.
The extension processes the Xero page currently visible in your browser to attach shortcuts and provide workflow checks. Features may inspect visible tracking fields, line descriptions, and Awaiting Approval counts locally. Line descriptions and tracking values are not saved. This processing happens entirely on your device.
Settings are saved with Chrome's local storage API and stay on your own device. The license key is sent to Polar for activation and periodic subscription checks as described below; the other stored settings are not uploaded:
There are five cases. License rechecks happen automatically for paid plans; the other cases are triggered by an action you take. Outside of these, the extension makes no network requests.
| When | What is sent | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| You click Upgrade in the extension's settings | Polar's checkout page opens in a new tab. Nothing is sent from the extension, and you pay Polar directly — we never see or handle your payment details | Polar, our payment provider |
| You activate a paid license, when Chrome starts, and approximately once every 24 hours | The saved license key, so Polar can confirm the subscription and plan are still active | Polar, our payment provider |
| You click Manage subscription | Polar's Customer Portal opens in a new tab. You sign in directly with Polar | Polar, our payment provider |
| You click the feedback link in the extension popup | A form page opens in a new tab. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and submit it | Google Forms |
| You uninstall the extension | A one-question survey page opens asking why. Nothing is sent unless you answer and submit it. Closing the tab sends nothing | Google Forms |
As with visiting any website, opening these pages means your IP address is visible to the service hosting them. Neither form asks for anything about your Xero account, and neither requires you to sign in. The feedback form has one optional email field, used only so I can reply to you — leave it blank and there is nothing tying the response to you.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone. The only outside services involved are the two listed above, and only in the situations described.
If the extension ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
